Carl Rivkin is the co-founder and co-owner of Total Hydrogen, LLC. Carl’s engineering career has focused on supporting the development and deployment of hydrogen infrastructure technologies which special focus on technology evaluation, safety, regulatory compliance and permitting. Carl's experience includes:
- Former Chairman of NFPA Hydrogen Technologies Technical Committee (NFPA 2)
- Hydrogen Research Safety lead at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL)
- Regulatory Compliance Manager for hydrogen production and fueling at the former Nikola
- Hydrogen safety training for the Chilean Ministry of Energy and Fire Departments across the US
- Hydrogen project permitting across the US with multiple projects in California and Texas
Carl Rivkin is a licensed professional engineer in Arizona, California, Colorado, Massachusetts, and Texas. He has CSP and PMP certifications and is an ICC Certified Fire Plans Examiner. He has written numerous peer reviewed technical publications including acting as chief editor of the NFPA Guide to Gas Safety.
